Gas Cylinder ID Charts
Cylinders supplied by Energas are colour coded according to EN 1089-3. This standard replaces the earlier colour coding standard BS349.
Gas cylinders can remain in circulation for considerable periods of time and therefore as a comparison both colours, where applicable, are shown in the following table.
The ‘old’ colours are those from BS349 and the ‘new’ colours are those currently used and applied by Energas whenever a cylinder is repainted.
IMPORTANT
Read all cylinder labels and stencilled marks. Do not rely on colour of cylinder alone.
All Energas cylinders are fitted with valve guards or bell caps. Never lift or crane a cylinder using its valve guard, bell cap or valve.
Although shoulder colours may be similar between different products, there will be different valves in use depending on the products contained within the cylinder.
